For Attorneys

Are you facing state prison time in California?

You are not alone. We have gotten through it and so will you.  Whether you are looking at 1 year or life, First Time Felons (FTF) will prepare you for your journey.  FTF's prison consultants have all done time in California State Prison.  There are many prison consultants out there but none of them specialize in the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR).  We know the ins and outs of the California state prison system and will teach you how to survive as well as how to navigate through the thick bureaucracy that exists within the system.

Sex Offenses

Don't worry, sex offenses are our specialty.  We know from experience.
The decisions you make in prison as a sex offender can have far reaching consequences both during and even after your incarceration.  It is imperative that you understand those consequences and take the simple precautions and steps necessary to keep you safe in prison and minimi z e the effects of the sex offender label after your release. We will help you.
Technically, every inmate not doing a life sentence will be released early.  You will either do 50%, 80%, or 85% of your sentence depending on your crime.  Prop 57 now guarantees early release beyond the 80 and 85% for ALL inmates not sentenced to LWOP and authorizes earlier parole consideration for non-violent offenders.  We will help you obtain all the sentence reduction credits available to you and take full advantage of Prop 57.

Medical Care

Due to inmate lawsuits and Supreme Court rulings, the healthcare inside the CDCR has substantially improved in recent years.  Many prisons are now equipped with state of the art hospital facilities and the most advanced treatments.  Top notch medical care in prison is available, however rec eiving it can be quite tricky, frustrating, and time consuming.  Call us today and we will guide you through the process so you get the medical care you need.
Every year the state of California sends approximately 100,000 first time felons to its many prisons scattered across the state.  This is more than any other state and more than many states combined.  With so many people entering the CDCR and not enough getting out, the prisons are overcrowded, some over their design capacity by as much as 150%.  With no room to accommodate the growing population the CDCR contracts with private detention facilities outside of California, sending inmates to states like Arizona and Nevada.  Prisoners are simply shipped off to any place where there is bed space available with no regard to where the prisoner is from or where their family may reside.  To make room inmates are constantly shuffled around, moved from prison to prison.  Depending on the length of your sentence, you could do your time at several different prisons.
Even more striking is that there is no conformity between prisons in terms of available services, conditions, or even rules.  So what you may be allowed to do at one prison, you may not be allowed at another.  The living conditions vary also, some prisons much cleaner and well kept than others.  As an inmate you will have little say in where you go and when.  But there are steps you can take to stay at a prison you don't want to leave and steps you can take to be transferred to a prison of your choice.  We can help you with that.
We understand going to prison may seem like the end of the world.  It is perhaps the most scary, stressful, and dev astating experience of your life.  You have so many questions with nowhere to find the answers.  You have perceptions of what it's going to be like and you think there is no way you are going to survive it.  People who you thought were your friends and maybe even family members are now distancing themselves from you.  You feel isolated and alone.  You feel trapped, insignificant, and depressed.  You just want answers, someone to talk to, and a glimpse in to what your life is going to be like.
It doesn't have to be this way.  Pick up the phone or send us an email.  We at FTF have the answers.  We will hold your hand and be at your side every step of the way.  Stop living in fear and get the p eace of mind you so desperately seek.  We have the roadmap for you and the expertise to guide you through this nightmare.  We are here for you no matter what.
This is not the end of your life, just a stumbling block, an obstacle you must accept and take head on.  Prepare yourself, arm yourself with the knowledge necessary to make the best of this journey. There is so much to learn and so little time.  We have so much to tell and teach you.
You are not paying for some one hour consultation.  This is a partnership, your own personal team of advisors and counselors who are here for you morning and night.  We will be there for you the moment you call until the day you are remanded in to custody.  Or if you want we will come along on the journey with you and stay until the day you are released.
You are not alone.  We at FTF have gotten through it and so will you.
